South Korea plans to raise the minimum cash margin requirement for single-share leveraged ETFs in advance
On July 24, according to South Korean media, South Korea's financial regulatory authorities were studying a plan to advance the minimum margin increase for single-share leveraged ETFs, which was originally scheduled to take effect next month, to the end of this month. The move is seen as a response to South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's call for the rapid implementation of supplementary measures for single-share leveraged ETFs. According to news from the financial investment community on the 23rd, the Korea Financial Investment Association held a working-level meeting with IT personnel from securities companies, Korea Stock Exchange, Korean securities computing company Koscom and other related institutions on the 21st to discuss the implementation of the single stock leveraged ETF system. It is said that financial regulators are considering advancing the minimum margin increase plan originally scheduled to be implemented early next month to the end of this month. However, the regulatory authorities will make the final decision on the specific implementation time and application method.
