SuiFoundation and MystenLabs have launched the Hashi Test Network, a Bitcoin Mortgage Protocol, which allows BTC to provide mortgage support for on-chain lending and credit markets without encapsulating it into synthetic tokens or bridging across chains. Hashi keeps Bitcoin in the Bitcoin network, and deposits are protected through a 2-of-2 multi-signature mechanism, requiring simultaneous signature by Hashi's multi-party computing verifiers and an independent GuardianLayer. Loan terms and mortgage positions are recorded on-chain for lenders to view mortgage support. More than 25 institutional partners are testing Hashi's lending and credit applications, including Bitgo, Cumberland, FalconX, Ledger, Blockdaemon, Bullish, as well as Sui ecological lending platforms Navi and Scallop. WaveDigitalAssets has committed to advancing a three-year plan to tokenize Bitcoin Income Bonds on Sui after the launch of Hashi's main website. Hashi has not announced a launch date on the main network. Sui announced the Hashi Development Network phase in March and positioned the agreement as a solution to improve capital efficiency for the approximately US$1.4 trillion Bitcoin market.
