Trump threatens to impose high tariffs on EU and demands that fines on U.S. companies be lifted
On July 25, US President Trump: The EU is here again, and as usual, it is directly targeting great American companies! After imposing a $15 billion fine on Apple, a $3 billion fine on Meta, a $2.5 billion fine on Amazon, and many other businesses for no reason, we have just learned that Google-a truly advanced and amazing company-was fined another $1 billion without explanation. This brings the total fines imposed on Google to more than $18 billion! This illegal and highly discriminatory practice reached such a high level during the first year of the Sleepy Joe administration, but it will not continue during the Trump administration. The United States is not Europe's "cash machine", and we will not allow it to become like this! It is hereby stated that we will immediately launch a 301 investigation into this kind of behavior that "plunders" American companies and thereby harms the interests of American taxpayers. The EU will pay a very high price for this illegal and highly unethical behavior, which I have been warning them not to do. These fines will be completely revoked, and we expect to impose high tariffs on them as soon as possible.
