Nvidia's "Open Weight Model" open letter has doubled to 50 Google and others have joined

On July 26 and July 24, Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun released a news on social media platforms, sharing a letter titled "Open Weights and American AI Leadership", calling for the promotion of the development of open-weighted artificial intelligence models. Huang Renxun's original letter contained 25 co-signatures. Today, the number of signatories of this letter has increased to 50, doubling the number. OpenAI is one of 25 new institutions, along with Google, AMD, Cisco, Cloudflare, GitHub, Block and Ollama. However, Anthropic and Amazon never appear on any version of the list, and the absence of these two companies is the most noteworthy detail on the list.
