According to South Korean media Asiae, six Silicon Valley leading venture capital institutions, Sequoia Capital, a16z, Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst and NEA, announced that they have signed a strategic investment cooperation memorandum (MOU) with the South Korean National Pension Fund (NPS), planning to jointly explore investment opportunities, share investment information and strengthen the global venture capital layout. Continuing, the South Korean government is accelerating its policy of attracting overseas venture capital, and the "National Growth Fund" with a combined scale of 200 trillion won has been launched. The market expects that South Korea's venture capital sector will usher in the simultaneous inflow of policy funds, private capital and overseas capital. Strategic industries such as AI and semiconductors are expected to receive more investment. However, investment banking industry insiders have warned that if a large amount of funds are concentrated on flowing to a few popular companies, or pushing up corporate valuations and forming a bubble, future IPOs and mergers and acquisitions may face valuation correction pressure, affecting the fund's return rate.
