AnthropicClaude's shared conversation is indexed by Google and exposed sensitive information such as encrypted wallet mnemonics
On July 28, a Reddit user discovered hundreds of Claude shared conversations through Google that could be fully read on July 25. Relevant content includes sensitive information such as encrypted wallet mnemonics, suspected social security numbers, and legal discussions. The cause of the problem is that Anthropic did not add the noindex meta tag to the Claude shared page. Its robots.txt has blocked Claude's shared URL crawling, but when shared links appear on public websites, Google can still index relevant pages. The same issue also concerns Claude's disclosure of artifacts, including apps, dashboards, and financial instruments that users create within Claude. Related search results showed salary sheets with employee names, internal customer relationship management chat exports, and unpublished product roadmaps. Before July 26, after Anthropic updated its configuration and added the noindex tag, Google began to remove Claude related results. Bing still displays some shared links; a GitHub repository has archived 453 Claude conversations and 519 Grok conversations, for a total of 11241 clear text messages.
