Iran rejects claims it seeks talks with the United States

On July 29, Iran said it had not sought negotiations with the United States in the past two weeks, rejecting President Trump's claim that Tehran was interested in negotiations. A senior Iranian official also insisted that Iran would not give up control of the Strait of Hormuz, calling it the core of the country's war goals. Hours after the above statement was made, Iran launched a new round of missile attacks on US military bases in Jordan. (Jin Shi)
