U.S. Embassy in Jordan: Situation in the Middle East may escalate further

On August 1, according to CCTV, the U.S. Embassy in Jordan issued a security warning on August 1, saying that the security situation in the Middle East remains complex and the regional situation may escalate further. The U.S. Embassy in Jordan advises U.S. citizens currently in the Middle East to remain highly vigilant and prepare for possible flight cancellations, phased airspace closures and travel interruptions. U.S. citizens living outside the Middle East should reconsider their travel to or through the region. The embassy also advised U.S. citizens to avoid going to U.S. military bases in Jordan and to "dangerous areas where a large number of police forces are deployed."
