Media: ITI opposes FCC's inclusion of optical modules on CoverList
According to CommunicationsDaily, the authoritative media in the U.S. communications field, the U.S. Information Technology Industry Commission (ITI) officially expressed its opposition to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) last week, urging the FCC not to include foreign-made optical modules on the restricted list, representing the U.S. technology industry organization's latest statement on this incident further reduces the probability of optical modules being included in the CoveredList "one size fits all". In its latest FCC filing, the ITI clearly recommended that CoveredList should continue to adopt a "precise, risk-based" approach, focusing on entities or products with clear connections to foreign rivals, rather than broadly covering the entire technology category from trusted companies. More importantly, the ITI separately proposed that optical transceivers should not be included in the Covered List, and in particular opposed the inclusion of all foreign-produced optical modules in the entire scope of restrictions.
