Nvidia China's H200 chip sales are insufficient, 1% of data center revenue, and US$400 million is accrued for inventory charges
August 27, according to Bloomberg News, Nvidia had sold a small number of H200 artificial intelligence chips to China customers in the most recent fiscal quarter ended July 26, but the related sales revenue accounted for less than 1% of its data center business revenue. Although NVIDIA obtained permission from the U.S. government in January this year to export a certain amount of H200 chips to China, due to opposition from relevant China authorities and other factors, the company was unable to complete all sales within the approved quota. Due to weakening product demand and inventory backlog, Nvidia has charged approximately US$400 million for excess H200 inventory in the past six months.
