Grok will offline AI companion: Ani and other characters will move to Animates after September 1

On August 30, it was announced that SpaceXAI will be rolled off Companions from GrokApp after September 1. 3DAI partners such as Ani will not disappear, but will move to independent apps Animates. Grok has begun to remind users of pop-up windows, Animates has also confirmed that SpaceXAI is assisting in the migration, Ani is already online, and other roles will be joined one after another. Animation.Inc, which is behind Animates, has previously been involved in the 3D character and animation production of GrokCompanions. The two companies do not have a public equity relationship. This adjustment is equivalent to splitting out the 3D companion business in Grok and handing it over to the original cooperation team to continue operations. It's unclear whether chats and long-term memories within Grok can migrate together. The official has only confirmed the role transfer and has not yet announced the user data migration plan.
