Google saved from breakup US judge rejects ad tech business sale order
On September 2, court documents showed that a federal judge rejected the U.S. Department of Justice's request for Alphabet's Google to sell its advertising exchange, allowing the technology giant to once again avoid being forcibly split. Judge Leonie Brinkema issued the verdict in a sealed manner in the form of a brief ruling, rejecting the Justice Department's request to force Google to sell the AdX advertising exchange. The judge instead asked Google to make behavioral changes to its business operations, but the specific requirements have not been disclosed. An abridged version of the verdict will be publicly released at a later date.
