UniswapLabs launches StablePairHook specifically designed for stablecoin trading pairs
On September 10, UniswapLabs launched the "StablePairHook", a new Uniswapv4hook designed specifically for stablecoin trading pairs such as USDC/USDT and USDC/USDG. StablePairHook uses a dynamic fee rather than a fixed fee, which changes based on the degree to which the pool price deviates from its reference price. When the price approaches the reference price, the mechanism adjusts the fee for each transaction to maintain a fixed spread between the bid and ask prices. UniswapLabs said if prices exceed that range, transactions that push prices further out of that range do not pay any fees because they already provide a favorable price for the pool. Transactions that bring prices back to the reference price use Dutch-style auctions. The fee is initially high and decreases as each block is traded until a trader accepts it. This allows liquidity providers to gain more from falling prices. The first StablePairHook pools will be launched on Ethereum with trading pairs USDC/USDG and USDC/USDT. UniswapLabs said that the volume of stablecoin-to-stablecoin exchange transactions on the Uniswap platform reached US$43.4 billion in the second quarter, exceeding the combined value of the second-ranked and third-ranked on-chain trading platforms.
