Senior Iranian official: US and Iran have not negotiated on nuclear program, US recognizes uranium enrichment rights as Tehran's red line

On October 7, a senior Iranian official said in an interview with Reuters that the two sides had not yet launched any form of negotiations on Tehran's nuclear program. The official pointed out that there is a fundamental difference between the United States 'position on Iran's nuclear program and Iran's own demands. He emphasized that the United States can only enter the negotiation stage on the nuclear issue if it first meets the specific requirements put forward by Tehran. Iran has made it clear that it will not give up uranium enrichment rights, but discussions on relevant technical details can be postponed. The official specifically pointed out that the United States 'recognition of Iran's uranium enrichment rights is Tehran's uncompromising core principle. At the same time, he defined U.S. Vice President Vance's statement on Iran's nuclear program as "ideas and demands" put forward by the United States.
