US media: US military has been asked to prepare for resumption of strikes against Iran
According to U.S. officials, the Pentagon had instructed U.S. Central Command a few days ago to prepare for a resumption of large-scale combat operations against Iran. The order did not specify the specific time of the attack, and President Trump has not yet made a final decision. However, U.S. and Israeli sources revealed that the operation may be launched before the U.S. midterm elections on November 3, or even earlier than Israel's planned election on October 27. People familiar with the matter said that if military operations resume, Iran's energy facilities, infrastructure and nuclear facilities are expected to be the main targets. Pentagon officials emphasized that the Department of Defense's responsibility is to develop and submit military plans to the president. White House officials added that President Trump could take action at any time. The media disclosed that if the war escalates, the United States and Israel may jointly carry out air strikes, and the Israeli army may also participate. Two Israeli officials pointed out that Iran is currently in a state of high tension and may be the first to launch an attack due to misjudgment.
