Samsung will launch USDC transfers for US Galaxy users on Solana

Reports from The Block show that Samsung issued a statement on October 7, announcing that its Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay services will support cross-border USDC transfers through the Solana network. This feature is available to 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices from the last week of October. It is integrated into the Samsung Wallet app and provides fiat withdrawal and recharge channels. It does not run as a stand-alone cryptocurrency application. This feature allows users to send USDC to compatible external wallets, whose underlying technology relies on Solana and Sui's blockchain infrastructure and is supported by the framework provided by Bastion, a U.S. licensed stablecoin custodian. It is worth noting that Samsung does not charge transfer fees, but the recipient or exchange may incur relevant fees. In addition, the wallet also supports fiat transfers to compliant bank accounts in more than 60 countries.
