US media: US military is actively preparing for a Middle East force plan, Trump has repeatedly vetoed it
The New York Times quoted US officials as saying that despite Trump's contradictory attitude towards resuming the war, the US military is still preparing for a large-scale combat plan against Iran. Three aircraft carriers are about to arrive in the Middle East, and the Pentagon has deployed strike plans to target Iranian drone and missile arsenals, energy facilities and military targets. News shows that Trump's national security team and the Department of Defense have submitted military action plans against Iran or the Houthi armed forces five times in recent months, but they have all vetoed them. However, Trump recently approved the implementation of such strike plans again. Last Friday, senior national security officials led by Vice President Vance held a meeting at Camp David to discuss relevant combat plans. According to people familiar with the matter, the operation is planned to last for about three days and focuses mainly on destroying Iran's missile and drone arsenal, and may also affect energy facilities and the Revolutionary Guard command center. It is noteworthy that Trump's latest statement stated that the United States and Iran are engaging in constructive dialogue on relevant issues, indicating that military strikes will not be taken before the midterm elections.
