Poll: Trump's approval rating drags down the Republican Party, with 26% of their own supporters calling for cutting
According to a joint disclosure by the Capitol Hill and Politico magazine on October 10, poll data conducted by PF Global in early October showed that 26% of Trump's 2024 supporters believe that if the Republican candidate in their district disagrees with Trump, his chances of winning in the November mid-term elections will be significantly improved. The sample size of this poll is 2001 people, and the error range is controlled within 2.2 percentage points.
At the level of specific policy issues, 57% of respondents advocated that the Republican Party should draw a clear line with Trump on the war in Iran, 61% believed that it needed to maintain an independent stance on economic issues, and 67% made it clear that different strategies should be adopted in the field of immigration and border control. Data shows that 44% of respondents reported that their personal financial situation has deteriorated or deteriorated significantly since Trump took office last year. Among them, 59% said that the burden of basic living costs such as groceries and gasoline has increased. This group includes 40% of Trump 2024 supporters.
When asked what credit should be given if the Republican Party successfully maintained its majority in both houses of Congress in November, only 22% of respondents attributed the credit to Trump's presidential performance, 29% attributed it to the Democratic Party's poor campaign performance, and 23% attributed it to the Republican Party's own campaign strategy, and another 26% said it was uncertain. As economic pressure and Trump's approval rating become core election issues, the Republican Party is facing more severe competitive challenges in some traditionally solid districts.
