Alex Lazarow: Stripe, MasterCard and Circle acquire three stablecoin companies in two years, with a total transaction value of more than $3 billion
Forbes quoted venture capitalist Alex Lazarow as saying that over the past two years, Stripe, Mastercard and Circle have completed mergers and acquisitions of US stablecoin infrastructure company Bridge, UK BVNK and Singapore cross-border payment platform Tazapay. The total amount of these three transactions exceeded the US$3 billion mark, while Bridge, BVNK and Tazapay were all established between 2020 and 2022, with a total financing scale of approximately US$200 million. It is worth noting that Stripe purchased Bridge in 2024 for just over US$1 billion, and MasterCard's acquisition of BVNK reached a peak value of US$1.8 billion, including a basic consideration of US$1.5 billion and additional terms of US$300 million. The above cases show that traditional payment giants and companies in the crypto field are viewing stablecoin payment infrastructure as a strategic focus.
