"Big Short" Michael Burry: U.S. stocks may peak in nine months and are aggressively shorting the Nasdaq 100 index and semiconductors

On October 13, Michael Burry-the prototype character in the movie "Big Short"-posted a post on his Substack account stating that U.S. stocks may have only 0 to 9 months left before they hit an important top. He also said that "the last few months of the bull market can be very crazy." According to his disclosure, his short positions are currently dominated by put options on the Nasdaq 100 Index ETF (QQQ) and the Semiconductor ETF (SMH). Both positions expire in the spring of 2027, and the strike price is approximately 20% lower than the current price. Meanwhile, Burry's short bets against Oracle (ORCL), Metropolitan Life (MET), Caterpillar (CAT) and Palantir (PLTR) continue. He judges that the market may have entered the late stage of this bull market, but he also predicts that the market may still experience quite violent fluctuations before the important top actually arrives.
