According to reports from The Block, there has been another change in the senior staff responsible for regulating digital assets at the White House. Patrick Witt no longer serves as the White House’s chief crypto advisor. On Wednesday, a White House official sent an email to The Block, stating that Witt’s “temporary assignment has expired”. The White House expressed gratitude for Witt’s work during the Trump administration and wished him success in his future endeavors. Eleanor Terrett, a journalist for Crypto In America, previously reported that Witt is an employee of the U.S. Department of Defense. His role on the White House Cryptocurrency Committee is temporary in nature. As the executive director of the President’s Digital Assets Advisory Board, Witt played a key role in promoting the Clarity Act, a comprehensive crypto legislation in Washington D.C. The House version of this bill was passed over a year ago.
