Strategy (MSTR) extends its decline to 6.46%.
According to BIT (bit.com) market data, on October 16, Strategy (MSTR) shares continued to slide, with losses widening to 6.46%, currently quoted at $141.5.
On the news front, MSCI is planning to implement a new rule that uses operating asset ratios and a series of financial ratio tests to screen out companies whose asset structures and operating characteristics more closely resemble investment funds rather than traditional operating businesses. Because Strategy holds an extremely high proportion of Bitcoin assets, it has been placed on the watchlist of companies that could be removed. The final list of affected companies is expected to be announced on November 11.
In the market's view, if MSTR is removed from MSCI-related indices, passive funds tracking such indices would be forced to reduce their holdings, potentially generating billions of dollars in selling pressure, while also posing challenges to its model of continuously accumulating Bitcoin through equity financing.
