U.S. financial heavyweight Don Wilson raises six core concerns about Hyperliquid, including information priority and position transparency
Don Wilson, founder and CEO of trading firm DRW, raised a series of key questions in a public post regarding the New York Stock Exchange’s parent company’s initiative to bring the decentralized perpetuals platform Hyperliquid to the U.S. market. He stressed that only the market itself can ultimately validate whether a mechanism truly works—and specifically thanked CFTC Chair Selig and the Trump administration for creating the policy environment that made this experiment possible. His central question: “What tangible advantages does on-chain perpetuals trading on a regulated exchange actually deliver?” In his view, the core value of on-chain trading lies in two things: first, drastically reducing operational friction in a trustless, KYC-free environment; and second, enabling atomic settlement—so users receive their purchased assets in real time. Yet he immediately noted that the second advantage doesn’t apply here, since perpetuals are not deliverable assets. He also directly called out Stan Druckenmiller, questioning whether the latter fully grasps this logic.
