Texas Governor-Elect: Open to Collaboration with Musk—But Data Center Construction Must Halt First

According to a CNN report on November 6, Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa stated: “The issue isn’t with data centers themselves—but rather how they’re consuming resources in ways that harm Texas residents. We absolutely have the capacity to build a strong, collaborative relationship with Elon Musk and his companies—while fully protecting the interests of Texans. However, all current data center construction must be halted immediately until effective safeguards ensuring the safety and well-being of Texas residents are firmly in place.”
