OpenAI reaches a partnership with Amazon AWS to win U.S. government contracts
People familiar with the matter revealed that OpenAI signed a new agreement with Amazon Cloud Technology (AWS) on Friday to provide artificial intelligence services to U.S. government workers, covering classified and non-classified businesses. The agreement will allow OpenAI to provide support to the U.S. Department of Defense. At the end of last month, after the Department of Defense abandoned the existing artificial intelligence service provider Anthropic, it quickly awarded the relevant contract to OpenAI. People familiar with the matter said that AWS is already a major cloud service provider for several U.S. government agencies and has agreed to sell OpenAI products to other U.S. government customers. Winning government contracts will help OpenAI win over large corporate customers-companies often regard high-profile government cooperation projects as a sign of trustworthiness for technology service providers.
