OKX: Will not rush IPO in the US market
According to CoinDesk, OKX said that even though the company is accelerating its global expansion and moving into tokenized finance, it does not plan to rush into the U.S. open market. HaiderRafique, the company's global managing partner and chief marketing officer, said at the Digital Assets Summit in New York on Thursday: "We will only go public when we are confident we can give back shareholder value. If we don't have the confidence to do this, I don't think it's necessary to go into the open market."<br />
The stance comes as OKX recently completed a strategic investment related to Intercontinental Exchange that valued the company at US$25 billion. Rafique said the company adopted a conservative strategy when pricing. "Judging by our revenue growth, licenses and assets, I think we are underpricing," he said. He added that the move was "very deliberate" and related to long-term shareholder returns.<br />
The remarks reflect broader market concerns about the performance of crypto companies in the open market. Rafique pointed out that at least one major listed company has performed poorly since listing. He said: "I bought a share. That share is now at a loss of 50%. This is not a good thing. It is actually unfavorable for the entire sector."
