On March 25, the U.S. Senate voted on the 24th to veto a bill aimed at preventing President Trump from launching further military action against Iran without congressional approval. The Senate vote on the same day was 47 votes in favor and 53 votes against, and the bill was not passed. The voting results were divided almost entirely along party lines, with all Republicans except Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul voting against it; all Democrats except Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetman voting in favor. This is the third time since the United States and Israel launched a joint military strike against Iran at the end of February that the Senate has failed to pass a bill aimed at limiting Trump's power to use force on Iran.
