Market News: Oil industry resists Trump's Iran peace plan
On April 9, U.S. President Trump's Iran peace plan was facing resistance from a key group: the oil industry. An industry consultant said oil company executives are contacting the White House, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio and Vice President Vance to protest allowing Iran to collect tolls through the Strait of Hormuz as a condition for peace talks. When asked if executives contacted the White House to protest the toll measure in the Strait of Hormuz, the person replied: "Of course! We didn't need to do this before-and I think we've won the war. Whenever you have a chance to get into government, you ask,'What are you thinking?'"(Politico)
