TeraWulfQ1HPC revenue exceeds Bitcoin mining power transformation AI infrastructure trend accelerates
Bitcoin mining company TeraWulf announced its Q1 financial report showing that its high-performance computing (HPC) business exceeded Bitcoin mining revenue for the first time, marking the company's transition to AI and cloud computing infrastructure has entered a critical stage. The company's total revenue in Q1 was US$34 million, basically the same as the same period last year. Among them, HPC rental revenue reached US$21 million, exceeding the revenue from digital asset mining by less than US$13 million for the first time, becoming the main source of income. The financial report also showed that the company's net loss expanded to US$427.6 million, mainly due to the revaluation of non-cash warrants. However, CFO Patrick Fleury emphasized that the company is moving from "volatile mining revenue" to "stable long-term computing power contract revenue." TeraWulf currently has 60 MW of HPC production capacity in Lake Mariner, New York, and plans to continue to expand within the year. At the same time, the company is transforming part of its mining machinery infrastructure into AI/HPC computing resources to support ultra-large-scale computing power needs. This trend continues to spread within the industry, and Bitcoin mining companies such as RiotPlatforms are also expanding their revenue structure through data center and AI contracts, gradually transforming into "computing infrastructure companies."
