Trump orders that all federal agencies must "buy American": no exceptions!
On May 11, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that all federal agencies must give priority to purchasing U.S. products,"without exceptions." He accused Washington politicians of sending taxpayer money overseas for decades, allowing foreign countries to take advantage of the United States while American workers, factories and supply chains were ignored. Trump called this "betrayal over." He said his administration is strengthening "Made in America" laws, ending exemption loopholes and banning the federal government from purchasing foreign products when excellent American products are available. Trump warned Washington officials: "Stop issuing exemptions like candy! Stop rubber-stamping foreign products and making exceptions to put American workers at a disadvantage." He emphasized that American workers, factories and supply chains will be put first bigger, better and stronger than ever before. Trump said he has signed Executive Order 14392 to crack down on false "Made in America" labels and is strictly enforcing them. "No more tricks, no more false labels, no more deceiving American taxpayers. American priority means buying American goods!" (Jin Shi)
