Polygon ecosystem DeFi public chain Katana acquires decentralized exchange IDEX

According to TheBlock, Katana, the Ethereum expansion network incubated by Polygon Labs and GSR, has acquired decentralized exchange IDEX and launched KatanaPerps, a perpetual contract platform based on its matchmaking engine. IDEX, an early hybrid "DeFi-CeFi" exchange, will provide KatanaPerps with order-book matching and AMM liquidity infrastructure. Katana said the move is part of its strategy to "own more technology stacks and revenue" and the goal is to complete the infrastructure layout before regulation opens up space for sustainable contracts on the chain. Katana's main network has been launched based on a customized version of OPStack and connected to PolygonAggLayer;KatanaPerps was initially provided with market-making support by GSR, SeliniCapital and Auros.
