Polymarket updates market integrity rules to strengthen supervision of insider trading and manipulation
Polymarket announced updates to its DeFi platform and CFTC regulated market integrity rules for U.S. exchanges to further clarify regulatory requirements for insider trading and market manipulation. The new regulations refine three types of prohibited behaviors, including using undisclosed information to trade, establishing positions based on illegal information sources, and participating in transactions by entities with the ability to influence the outcome of events. At the same time, the platform clearly prohibits false transactions, reverse transactions, and price manipulation, and launches a special page to explain rules and provide channels for reporting abnormal behaviors. In addition, Polymarket stated that its DeFi platform uses on-chain transparency mechanisms and multi-layer monitoring systems to identify risks, while the U.S. platform combines technical monitoring and collaborates with industry regulators to investigate and punish violations.
