Hut8 invests $16 million to expand water systems to support AI data centers
Publicly listed company Hut8 announced an agreement with the Parish of West Feliciana, Louisiana to invest approximately US$16 million to expand local water system capacity to complement the development of its RiverBendAI data center park. The investment includes the construction of a new water well and an eight-mile main water supply pipeline, which is expected to be handed over to the parish free of charge after completion in the second half of 2026. The first phase of the RiverBend campus is a multi-billion-dollar capital investment and is expected to support a total of 268 jobs when fully operational. The park will use a closed-loop cooling system to reduce demand for local water resources.
