Senator Lummis leads the Republican Party in demanding relaxation of Basel's penalty for crypto-asset capital

According to CoinDesk, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis has led a number of Senate Republicans in urging financial regulators to abolish the 1,250% punitive risk weighting set by the Basel Committee on digital assets and establish a new capital framework so that banks can meaningfully participate in the crypto asset market.
