Nobel laureate Jiang Po announced that he would leave DeepMind to join Anthropic
On June 20, senior research scientist John Jumper announced on Friday that he would leave Google DeepMind to join artificial intelligence startup Anthropic, the latest high-profile core talent departure in the technology giant's artificial intelligence research and development department. Jumper, who won the 2024 Nobel Prize with Google's Demis Hassabis, is best known as a co-developer of AlphaFold. This groundbreaking artificial intelligence model has predicted more than 200 million protein structures, greatly shortening the cycle required for biological and medical research. Jiang Po posted on social platform X: "After nearly nine years of work, I decided to leave Google DeepMind and join Anthropic." Technology giants such as Meta, Google's parent company Alphabet, and cutting-edge artificial intelligence companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI are in a fierce battle for talent. All parties are competing to recruit top researchers to fully develop a new generation of artificial intelligence systems.
