Trump says the United States may collect 20% of Middle East oil revenue
Xinhua Agency, Washington, June 21. U.S. President Trump said in an interview with Fox News Channel on the 21st that if the United States and Iran fail to reach an agreement, the United States will become the "guardian" of the Strait of Hormuz and collect 20% of the oil revenue in the Middle East. The media said that Trump had a phone call with Iran on the evening of the 20th and warned them not to close the Strait of Hormuz. "If you shut it down, you won't have another country," Trump told Iranian officials. Trump said,"If necessary, we may take over the Strait of Hormuz,""We will strike hard on them (Iran)," and "If they fail to reach an agreement, we will impose tolls." Trump said the US-Iran memorandum of understanding only extended the ceasefire and was not a final agreement. If Iran does not make serious commitments at the negotiating table, he will reserve multiple options. Trump also responded to Iranian President Pezehizyan's remarks that he would not give up uranium enrichment rights, saying: "He'd better watch his words." Trump posted on social media on the 21st that Iran must immediately stop its "proxy" actions in Lebanon, otherwise the United States will launch another fierce attack on Iran,"just like last week, and more fierce."
