BitPay is licensed by MiCA crypto-asset service provider in the Netherlands to expand stablecoin payments
Crypto payment company BitPay announced that it has obtained approval from the Dutch Financial Markets Authority and license as a cryptographic asset service provider to conduct business in EU member states in accordance with the cryptographic asset market regulatory framework. BitPay said the license will support the company's expansion of services such as crypto payments and stablecoin payments in Europe. According to relevant requirements, starting from July 1, all entities providing cryptography-related services will need to be included in supervision. Jonathan Arler, head of BitPay Europe, said that Europe is one of the most important regions for the future development of payments. Previously, Ripple has announced that it has received a license as a crypto-asset service provider from Luxembourg's financial regulator.
