The Zcash development team announced that it will introduce anti-quantum signatures to the network in January. According to Zakura engineer Roman Akhtariev's disclosure in an engineering blog, the post-quantum signature opcode is expected to be implemented in January to support Zcash's verification of hash-based signature schemes, thereby enhancing defense against quantum computing attacks. The team has not announced the exact network activation time. The core goal of this technology upgrade is to block the possibility of an attacker backpushing and forging the wallet owner's payment authorization through the current public key. In the initial implementation phase, priority will be given to ensuring the security of transparent transactions. Zcash's payment system includes two models: blocked payment hides the sender, recipient and transaction amount through zero-knowledge proof technology; while transparent payment is similar to Bitcoin, the address and transfer amount are fully disclosed on the blockchain. CoinDesk statistics based on ZecStats data showed that 16.98 million Zcash tokens were in circulation on Thursday.
