Zhao Changpeng warns Ledger of the risk of hardware wallet supply chain attacks, suspected of selling counterfeit or tampered equipment by a single dealer
Recently, Zhao Changpeng issued a warning on social media, urging Ledger hardware wallet users to strengthen precautions, particularly pointing out that users who have recently purchased equipment need to pay special attention. According to available information, this security incident may be limited to the supply chain, involving one supplier, a small number of users or who have purchased counterfeit or tampered Ledger equipment. Zhao Changpeng emphasized that although Ledger is a hardware wallet brand with a long history and reliable security performance in the industry, such problems may still occur. He also expressed his expectations for the BNB ecosystem and the entire cryptocurrency industry, and hoped that all parties would assist in tracking stolen funds and promoting asset recovery. Previously, Ledger has confirmed that it is investigating an asset theft case involving users in Southeast Asia who purchased equipment through dealer CryptoBilis. Ledger has instructed CryptoBilis to suspend all sales and shipping activities and recommends that users who have purchased equipment in the past 90 days perform device verification.
