IDC: NVIDIA's share of AI chips in data centers in China drops to 34%
According to Reuters quoted IDC report, Phoenix Technology reported that from January to June 2026, Nvidia's share of the AI chip market in China's data center fell to 34%. IDC data shows that during this period, NVIDIA's AI accelerator shipments in the China market were 678,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 44%. The report believes that this change in share stems from the limited supply of products caused by U.S. export controls and the seizure of more markets by local China competitors. Among the 11 China chip makers tracked by IDC, 9 achieved year-on-year growth in shipments. Among them, Huawei shipped 572,000 AI accelerators in the first half of the year, a significant increase from more than 300,000 in the same period last year, accounting for 28% of the overall market. Pingtouge, a chip design division of Alibaba, has a market share of 7%, 5% for the Cambrian, and 4% for Baidu's Kunlun Core.
