US SEC Approves KPI Binary Options Listing for 23 US-Listed Companies, Including Coinbase, Robinhood, and MARA
According to CoinDesk, on October 13, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins issued a statement formally approving Cboe Global Markets' proposed rule change. Under the new rules, Cboe may list binary options tied to key performance indicators (KPIs) of 23 U.S.-listed companies. Among the crypto-related metrics involved are: Coinbase (COIN) trading volume, Robinhood (HOOD) customer numbers and revenue, and MARA Holdings (MARA) Bitcoin production. These contracts are cash-settled, European-style options exercisable only at expiration, with settlement based on company filings with the SEC rather than earnings presentation materials. Cboe plans to launch these products within the month.
