The French National Assembly recently rejected the revenue portion of the 2027 budget, meaning a proposal concerning crypto asset taxation must still be resubmitted for review. According to a post by Bitcoin News on X, the proposal has not yet become law and includes several measures: France is studying a 31.4% capital gains tax on certain Bitcoin-to-stablecoin conversions; a departure tax on crypto assets worth more than 800,000 euros; and a requirement to declare assets held in self-custodial wallets valued at or above 100,000 euros. In addition, the proposal would allow crypto asset losses to be carried forward for 10 years.
