Binance: Aiming to gradually restore withdrawals within ~34 hours; 80% of losses already covered
Binance announced its second security incident update, jointly signed by Co-CEOs Yi He and Richard Teng, stating that the technical team plans to gradually resume withdrawal services within approximately 34 hours—contingent upon completion of all security checks—while deposit and other functions remain unaffected. The company confirmed it has allocated over $6.34 billion in dedicated funds, including $5 billion in tokens matching the types of stolen assets—sufficient to cover roughly 80% of the affected amount—with the remaining shortfall being urgently addressed via public-market and OTC channels. The first Proof of Reserves snapshot will be completed within 12 hours, with results publicly released on November 2. Regarding investigation progress, in addition to the initially identified laptop intrusion vector, the team has uncovered several other potential attack entry points; however, no evidence has yet emerged indicating private key compromise. A more in-depth technical analysis is expected to be published within approximately 48 hours. ChainCatch
