Yi Lihua: Binance’s profits are sufficient to cover the losses from the hack; the market is more concerned about security risks facing trading platforms in the AI era.
On November 2, Yi Lihua, founder of Liquid Capital, shared his view: Binance’s current profitability is more than sufficient to absorb the losses from this hack; its asset security and liquidity remain robust—fundamentally distinct from FTX’s collapse. In his view, the immediate priority isn’t the incident itself, but rather how exchanges like Binance can build effective defenses to prevent repeat breaches. The deeper market concern lies in whether hackers’ capabilities—accelerated by the AI era—are now outpacing exchanges’ defensive capacities, and whether attackers have already planted undetected vulnerabilities deep within exchange systems. He stressed that major platforms like Binance must urgently publish a comprehensive, transparent, and credible security response plan for users.
