Circle Discloses Latest Progress on the Arc Network: Genesis Minting of 10 Billion ARC Tokens Completed, Transition to PoS Planned for 2027

Circle announced a key milestone for the Arc network: the successful genesis mint of 10 billion ARC tokens—making Circle the first publicly traded company to mint the native token for a new Layer 1 blockchain. The ARC token will serve as the unified foundation for network security, utility, and on-chain governance. Arc has explicitly outlined its transition to a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism by 2027. Its public mainnet officially launched on September 16, attracting over 100 institutions and ecosystem builders on day one—and enabling native USDC integration. Future technical development will focus on three pillars: the PoS upgrade, privacy enhancements, and scalability improvements. On the ecosystem front, Arc has cultivated an active developer community—Arc House now boasts more than 75,000 members, and the Architect Ambassador program has reached 10,000 participants; over 12 projects have already been deployed on the private mainnet.
