On July 31, Meta said it had committed nearly US$700 billion in future expenditures through long-term and short-term agreements, covering areas such as artificial intelligence data centers and cloud computing. Meta said in a regulatory filing on Thursday that the company has $349.3 billion in irrevocable contractual commitments, mainly involving third-party cloud service agreements, servers and network infrastructure. The company also has $347 billion in lease commitments that have not yet begun and have not yet been reflected on its balance sheet. Among them,$68 billion was added in July alone, and payments will begin in 2027 and 2028. These costs are in addition to existing active leases and cover data centers, hosting facilities and "part of the network infrastructure."
