Vance to Rally Disaffected Voters to Form a “New Right” Coalition
In an exclusive report published by Fox News Digital on November 5, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is reportedly laying the groundwork—before the 2028 election cycle officially begins—to build a new political coalition called the “New Right,” aimed at uniting voters disillusioned with Donald Trump. This move follows the Republican Party’s significant losses in the midterm elections. On Wednesday morning local time, Vance posted a lengthy thread on X (formerly Twitter), deliberately distancing his public positions from Trump’s on foreign policy and U.S.-Israel relations. He stated plainly: “The reason we lost the election is this war,” adding, “The President himself expressed the same view last night.” He also cited four core priorities outlined by a polling expert: ending the war, focusing on cost-of-living and inflation concerns, upholding the “America First” principle, and recalibrating U.S. policy toward Israel. A government official told Fox that these four pillars serve as Vance’s rallying cry for the “New Right”—a clear signal to Republicans who still support Trump but harbor reservations—or even feelings of betrayal—about his foreign policy: “Vance is one of us.” The official stressed that this effort is not intended as a break with Trump. Separately, Fox cited sources saying the White House held a meeting Wednesday morning to align its external messaging following the midterms; and on election night itself, Trump reportedly told Fox that the Iran war “partially” contributed to the GOP’s losses. As of publication, the White House has not responded to the report.
