OKX Not Working or Website Not Loading? DNS and Route Fixes (2026)

OKX "not working" shows up in several different shapes: the website spins forever, the site loads but the market list never refreshes, or the app logs in but shows network errors. In most cases the account is fine and the problem sits at the network or route layer. This guide follows a real troubleshooting order: check OKX's own status page first, then a 30-second split between "outage" and "only me", then DNS, cache and route-level fixes — and finally the four criteria for choosing a route, with a real sign-up walkthrough.

1. Start with OKX's own status page

OKX runs a dedicated official status page (the screenshot below is the real one), and it has two blocks worth reading:

  • System maintenance: if it says there is no upgrade planned, there is no platform-wide maintenance at that moment. When maintenance is scheduled, the window is listed — not being able to open the site during that window is normal, so just wait it out;
  • Incident reports: past outages are listed by date with a write-up. If a fresh entry appears at the same time you cannot get in, that is a platform-wide problem — stop fighting your own network.

If the status page is clean and you still cannot open OKX, the problem is on your side. Keep reading.

Three telltale shapes of an OKX block

  • The status page lists a maintenance window: OKX's system-maintenance block states the window, and not being able to open the site during it is normal;
  • The status page is clean but only you cannot get in: loading failures or timeouts mean a route problem — work through section 3;
  • The main site opens but the Web3 wallet or DEX module will not: those modules run on separate entry points, not the same access path as the main site, so do not mistake a module failure for "the exchange is down". A blank or crashing app is the same story: a version or regional-store issue.

How to read OKX's status page

The two blocks answer different questions. System maintenance answers "is anything scheduled right now" — if it says no upgrade is planned, there is no platform-wide maintenance. Incident reports answer "what has happened", listed by date with write-ups. Judge the current problem from the first, and use the second to judge how transparent and responsive the exchange is when things break.

2. A 30-second test: networks and domains

  • Switch networks: move between Wi-Fi and mobile data and retry. If it opens, your original route was the problem — waiting for the exchange will not help;
  • Verify the domain: OKX's only official domain is okx.com. Spelling-variant look-alikes in search ads are the main phishing channel — see our guide to spotting fake exchange sites;
  • Check whether it is the account side: if the page opens but your credentials are refused, or you are asked to appeal or submit documents, that is account-level risk control. Submit what the page asks for — retrying login does not help.

3. Two things you can fix locally: DNS and cache

3.1 Switch to a public DNS resolver

"It worked yesterday, not today" is most often a DNS resolution failure. Change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8: on Windows, Network adapter → IPv4 properties; on macOS, System Settings → Network → Details → DNS; on mobile, in the Wi-Fi details screen. Then disconnect and reconnect.

3.2 Rule out cache and extensions with an incognito window

If an incognito window opens the site but your normal window does not, it is cache or extensions — ad and script blockers most often break exchange verification scripts, which shows up as a page that half-loads and hangs. Clear the cache once, or disable extensions one at a time.

Note that an OKX app that will not open is a different problem. Blank screens and crashes are usually an outdated build; not finding the app in your store is usually a regional-store issue, and it has nothing to do with the website not loading.

If the OKX status page opens but the main site does not, resolution is fine — go straight to section 2 to decide whether it is the route or the account side, and stop fiddling with local settings.

4. If it is a regional or route restriction: separate the cases first

OKX is the same regional-access-restriction case: users in the same region broadly cannot open it, and your account is not the issue.

Judge a route on four criteria only: a public status page, an explicit no-access-log commitment, support for the devices you use, and transparent billing. The full method, plus a real sign-up walkthrough with screenshots (the invite code fills itself in), is in Blocked exchange? How to choose a route — this article no longer repeats those images.

Compliance note: follow the laws and platform terms that apply where you are, use any route only for ordinary market data and trading access, and never for anything unlawful.

5. Verifying the route works

  • The full market list loads, not just the skeleton — so API requests are getting through;
  • Login works, and deposit and order pages open;
  • Stay on one city's node: an account whose IP hops between countries within minutes is the classic trigger for unusual-login flags and temporary withdrawal holds;
  • For sensitive actions such as withdrawals or password changes, return to your original network where possible. For missing withdrawals, see our step-by-step OKX withdrawal troubleshooting guide; general platform notes are on our OKX exchange review page.

OKX Web3 wallet and DEX modules use separate entry points, so verify those two modules independently — their failure does not mean the main site is unavailable.

6. FAQ

Everyone else can open it, only I cannot?

Then it is your device or your ISP's route — work through section 3. If a different network and a different DNS both fail, consider a route service.

Will an acceleration route get my account flagged?

No tool alone gets you banned, but frequent IP hopping triggers risk controls. One fixed node, and no region-switching across several devices, keeps it low.

Is "OKX not working" the same as Binance not working?

The troubleshooting approach is identical, but each exchange has its own status-page entry point — check that exchange's page first to rule out a platform-wide outage. For Binance, see our guide to Binance access and payment problems.

The app keeps showing network errors — what now?

Check that your system clock and region settings are correct (a clock offset breaks certificate validation), then update to the latest build. If only the app fails while the website works, suspect a version mismatch with your regional app store.

The status page says no upgrade is planned, yet I cannot get in — what is wrong?

That rules out platform-wide maintenance, so the problem is on your side: test another network as in section 2, then clear DNS and cache as in section 3. If both fail, it is a regional access restriction.
