Binance Agent ID: How to Claim a .ai Name for an Agentic Wallet
Agent ID gives an AI agent wallet a readable .ai name instead of a long 0x address. Here is the claim flow, the four irreversible rules, and why a nam…
What Agent ID is: a name humans can remember for an AI wallet
On October 20, 2026, Binance co-founder Yi He posted a gold card reading "heyi.ai," pushing Binance Wallet's new Agent ID feature into the spotlight. In short, an Agent ID binds a readable name ending in .ai to an "Agentic Wallet" — the wallet built for AI agents — replacing a long 0x address.
It runs on SPACE ID infrastructure, is deployed on BNB Chain, and is free to claim during the launch promotion. Names are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Agent ID is not a standalone feature. Binance's Agent OS, announced on August 20, 2026, already bundles trading APIs, market data, the Agentic wallet, x402 payments, and an MCP connection layer into a platform for AI agents. Agent ID is the identity layer of that stack.
How to claim one
Based on publicly shared instructions, the flow is roughly as follows (menu positions differ slightly between app versions — follow what the app actually shows):
- Open Binance Wallet;
- Activate the Agentic Wallet (the AI-specific wallet);
- Find the Agent ID banner on the wallet home screen;
- Pick an available name and confirm the binding.
Claiming is free during the promotion, but names go to whoever gets there first. Popular short names — people, projects, common English words — will be taken quickly.
Four hard rules
- One Agentic Wallet, one Agent ID: you cannot attach multiple names to the same wallet;
- Non-transferable: the name cannot be sold like an NFT;
- Non-renameable: once bound, it cannot be edited;
- Non-destructible: the binding between name and wallet cannot be dissolved.
Those four rules make it fundamentally different from tradeable naming systems like ENS. An Agent ID behaves more like a national ID number than a piece of property.
A name is not security: three things to think through
1. Names are public, which makes them targets
A 0x address is hard to remember and hard to impersonate. A name like "yourname.ai" is the opposite: it invites impersonation. Attackers can register lookalike names — an extra letter, a hyphen moved, a homoglyph — and then approach you as "official support" or "the project team." A .ai suffix proves nothing; verify the underlying address.
2. The binding is irreversible, so mistakes are permanent
Because the name cannot be changed, transferred, or destroyed, decide first whether this Agentic Wallet is the one you intend to use for AI agents long term. If you are only experimenting, use a test wallet rather than burning the name on your main one.
3. The name does not custody your funds
Agent ID solves identification, not authorization. What actually protects your money is how the Agentic Wallet's permissions are configured: which subaccount the agent can touch, what orders it can place, and whether it can withdraw at all. A good-looking name with loose permissions is still an empty account waiting to happen.
How it connects to Agent OS
Binance's Agent OS announcement states that the MCP server currently supports trading and market-data capabilities, while on-chain and payment functionality can be integrated through other Binance APIs, tools, and skills. Developers set permissions, including funding limits and which features an agent may use, and can revoke access at any time. Agent ID gives those agents a readable identity, but permission control still happens at the wallet and API layer.
FAQ
Does Agent ID cost anything?
Claiming is free during the launch promotion. Any future fee or renewal rules will be set by Binance's official announcements.
Can I claim one without an Agentic Wallet?
No. You must activate an Agentic Wallet first, because the name is bound to that wallet.
What if my preferred name is taken?
Pick another one. Since names cannot be renamed or transferred, there is no official buy-back or transfer channel. Anyone claiming they can obtain a taken name for you is almost certainly running a scam.
Risk notice: This article is information only and not investment advice. An Agent ID is an on-chain identifier that cannot be transferred, renamed, or destroyed after binding. Never give wallet approvals or seed phrases to anyone claiming to claim, grab, or rename an Agent ID on your behalf.
