He Yi responds to users’ mistaken token transfers: will compensate losses using personal funds; Binance plans to add triple confirmation for fund transfers
On November 8, Binance Co-CEO He Yi issued a statement explaining that a user mistakenly transferred crypto assets while simultaneously using two isolated apps. Due to legal restrictions, Binance has no authority to directly move funds from third-party accounts—so He Yi personally pledged to fully compensate the user for all resulting losses.
She further clarified that Binance currently operates three region-specific websites—each independently developed by local teams and fully separated from the main platform. These sites are built around local fiat trading in both product architecture and business model, with their operational independence stemming from prior regulatory requirements.
To prevent such operational errors from recurring, the platform will introduce a triple-confirmation mechanism in its payment and transfer flows.
Additionally, He Yi emphasized that transparent, public user feedback is a critical driver for continuous product improvement—and called on industry peers to prioritize user rights with equal urgency.
She also launched a seven-day suggestion campaign: users can submit product improvement ideas in the comments section. Binance’s product team will select the 10 most valuable suggestions; each selected contributor will receive 1 BNB as a reward.
